Symptoms

Yellowing in urine and skin

Pain in the upper/middle abdomen or back

Unexplained weight loss/loss of appetite/fatigue

Risk factors

Factors defined as risk factors are those that increase the probability of developing a disease. However, the point that should be mentioned here is that; The fact that a person has one or more risk factors does not necessarily mean that that person will develop that cancer/or disease. There are people who have risk factors but do not develop disease/cancer.

Although the cause of the disease is unknown, the known risk factors are:

• Smoking
• Chronic (long-term) pancreatitis
• Long-term Diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes
• Some genetic diseases; Lynch Syndrome, Peutz Jeghers Syndrome, Hereditary BRCA-2 mutation-associated breast/ovarian cancer
• Diagnosis

The most commonly used methods in the diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer are imaging methods (X-ray, Computed tomography, MR, Ultrasonography).

Treatment

The treatment of each patient differs, and multiple factors such as the location of the disease, the stage of the disease, the age of the patient and other health problems are effective in the treatment decision. These treatments, which require a multidisciplinary study; It includes different options such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery.
